So here I am...blogging...and I'm a little unsure of how it will go. When my lovely wife Theresa started her blog I was indifferent to it mostly. It's dead brain time right? It was certainly not something I would ever do, or even consider.
But then I started reading her blog occasionally. I then started reading it daily with great anticipation, never revealing my true interest. Jesus, now I am reading her followers, friending them on Facebook, and generally just being the creepy blogspot lurker guy.
What has struck me all this time.....are the common feelings, fears, doubts, and insecurities amongst all the WLS women. It has provided me a few more tools in my toolbox. You know, for those extra special guy moments when you really f&*% it up by saying something stupid and insensitive.
I used to think the things Theresa dealt with, or her issues with her weight were hers alone.....that would be a Fail.
I am banded in a sense and each day is a new learning experience.....some of those not being so easy for a guy.
I hope to blog regularly, not piss my wife off inadvertently, gain a few followers and maybe provide some insight into being the sorta significant other of someone with the LapBand.
I'm Listening.

You get me...you may have to give up your man card!

I love the concept! Charlie and another spouse of a banded lady were actually talking at a local bandster meet before I was banded about the lack of support and information for the partners of banded people!!
ReplyDeleteI should clarify - Charlie is my significant other!

Great idea! My partner is very supportive too - but if he ever photographs me 'barfing' in the sink I shall post photos of him brushing his false teeth on my blog.
ReplyDeleteCaroline
Sorry, no he doesn't actually brush his teeth on my blog - the screen would get in the way. He knows what I mean - AND that the photos would be X-Large...
ReplyDeleteLook forward to reading what you have to say.
Caroline
